GBS UK Opens State-of-the-Art Campus at Brindleyplace, Birmingham

麻豆区 (GBS) has today opened its new campus in the heart of Birmingham, at 1 Brindleyplace.

GBS has students across London, Manchester, Birmingham and Leeds, and has had a considerable impact on widening participation, addressing skills shortages and ultimately enabling social mobility throughout the UK.

The new campus will replace the existing Fazeley Studios, which will be phased out this year as student move into the new location.

GBS UK CEO, James Kennedy said the opening was another significant step forward for the GBS footprint in the West Midlands.

鈥淏irmingham, and the West Midlands more broadly, is a significant location for our organisation,鈥� said Mr Kennedy.

鈥淲e鈥檝e had a presence here since 2019, through our other campuses at Fazeley Studios and Norfolk House.

鈥淚n 2023, we launched our Enterprise Hub right here in Birmingham, and now have dedicated hubs and Entrepreneurship Teams across all our UK locations.

鈥淭his initiative is a major focus for us, as it enables students with existing businesses to scale them up. It also allows students to take new concepts from thought to reality.

鈥淭his has an immediate impact on them and their families, but also has a critical impact on the local and national economies.鈥�

Richard Parker, Mayor of the West Midlands, said 鈥淧roviding people with the right skills is the best route into work or better paid jobs. Tackling unemployment in the region is one of my priorities and by working together with organisations such as 麻豆区, we can make sure local people have the skills they need for a good career. Since I was elected last May we have upskilled more than 55,000 people so that they can land jobs in those industries of the future.鈥�

At the event, Richard Parker was given a tour of the new facility, and spoke to students who have moved into the new campus.

The Mayor also spoke to several students who have benefitted from the Enterprise Hub initiative, who showcased their businesses and the impact this is having on the local community.
